Classes Starting Soon!

We’re excited to be offering outdoor gymnastics classes for Under 5s, Gymstar, MAG and WAG outside! These classes will run at the gym, but we’ll be moving some of our equipment outdoors. Classes start the week beginning 5th October.

You can see all the classes we are running on the Parent Portal. Please note that for safety reasons the number of participants in each class is limited.

FAQ – Outdoor Classes

What should my child wear?
All gymnasts should wear normal gym clothes:

  • Girls in Gymstar and Under 5’s classes should wear a leotard (with underwear) with hair in a bun or tied up neatly out of their face or a close-fitting t-shirt with shorts, leggings or track pants without pockets
  • Boys in Gymstar and Under 5’s classes should wear a close-fitting t-shirt with shorts or track pants without pockets
  • No costumes, capes, dresses, skirts, zips, buttons, belts or buckles, or anything else that can damage the equipment
  • No jewellery or any items that can scratch the gymnast, the coach, or the equipment

Please remember even with the sun it might be cold, so all gymnasts should bring a jumper or a long sleeve top.

All gymnasts must wear shoes to and from their class.

Will my child get to use the same equipment as a normal class?
Unfortunately for safety reasons we’re only able to take some equipment outside.

What happens if it rains?
Our Temperature Policy has been renamed the Environmental Conditions Policy, and now includes information about what happens if it rains. In summary, if rain is forecast or it is raining classes on that day will be cancelled.

You can read the whole policy here.

Do outdoor classes cost the same as indoor ones?
These classes are shorter and use less equipment, so the cost is 50% of a regular indoor class.

How do I pay?
Because of the unpredictability of the weather, you only need to pay when your child attends a class. EFTPOS is available, or you can pay by cash. Please note payment is required prior to participation.

Do I still need to pay the Gymnastics Victoria registration fee?
The Gymnastics Victoria (GV) registration fee is an annual cost. If you have already paid this for your child (even at a different club) you won’t need to pay it again.

If this is your child’s first time doing gymnastics this year, you will need to pay the registration fee.

How will you notify me if a class is cancelled?
We will send an SMS message and a notification via our app, available from the App Store and Google Play.

Please make sure you have notifications turned on. To check if you are subscribed to SMS messages, head to the Parent Portal and click on each phone number you want to receive messages.

What COVID safety measures are you taking?
Our COVIDSafe Handbook has been updated. Please ensure you have read it. Acceptance of the policies in this Handbook is compulsory when attending classes at the gym.

Are online classes still running?
Yes! If your child can’t attend a class at the gym, they are still welcome to join an online class. Online classes are provided at no charge.

Can I watch my child's session?
For Under 5s classes, one parent must stay for the duration of the class. For all other classes, spectators are not permitted.
