Gymstar Update: Embracing Excellence through Technique

At Eureka Gymnastics Club, we believe in the power of a solid foundation. Last year, we observed that our Gymstar level 6 gymnasts, while training alongside levels 7 and 8, were attempting advanced skills before mastering the basics. So, we decided to update the Gymstar program by moving level 6 gymnasts into the same class as level 5 gymnasts. We also updated our lesson plans for all classes with some specific goals in mind.

The Aims of Our Gymstar Update

Our goal was clear: to refocus on perfecting skills with superior technique. This shift was not just about ensuring gymnasts had a good foundation to build on but also about safety—better technique means fewer injuries. Moreover, we wanted to ensure that those aspiring to join the Competitive Gymstar program would not be hindered by an inability to perform certain skills.

Gymstar update: Competitive Gymstar classes have grown big!

Progress Report: Where We Are Now

The results have been remarkable:

  • Technique Improvement: Across all levels, we’ve seen a significant enhancement in technique, with the most notable progress in the lower levels.
  • Specialized Lessons: Levels 7-10 are now benefiting from more specialized instruction, allowing gymnasts to learn new skills that were previously out of reach.
  • Competitive Growth: The Competitive Gymstar program is thriving, and we’re actively devising strategies to expand this class further in 2025.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to refine our program, we remain committed to the development and well-being of our gymnasts. The changes we’ve implemented are just the beginning. We’re excited to see our gymnasts soar to new heights, equipped with the skills and techniques they need to succeed.

Stay tuned for more updates as we leap into the future with confidence and grace!
