Eureka Gymnastics Club was successful in our application for the Victorian Government Country Action Grants, which will see the start of a subsidised Regional Victoria Coaching and Judging Development program for 2014 in Ballarat in conjunction with Gymnastics Victoria.
Eureka Gymnastics is a Community based club and had identified a need for a regional based training program to grow the number of coaches and judges available to itself and other community clubs in Western Victoria. The personal cost and the usual need to travel to Melbourne is an inhibitor to engage the local youth and young adults to remain in the sport.
We hope that by establishing a Ballarat based and subsidised training program we can increase the level of engagement with a diverse range of young people and adults in both coaching and judging, ensuring the ability to grow participation in gymnastics as a foundation activity for all sports.
