The last three months have been busy for many of the boys and girls who attend Eureka Gymnastics Club. Gymnasts in Women’s Artistic, Men’s Artistic, and Gymstar have attended competitions at various locations in Victoria, with great results!
Women’s Artistic
So far this year, our gymnasts have competed at competitions in Geelong, Ballarat, and various clubs around Melbourne. There are a few competitions to come later in the year in Stawell and Natimuk and further competitions in Geelong.
As a club, we are so proud to see the hard work of these gymnasts being rewarded at competitions. The most recent competition was the West Regional Championships.
Level 3
Our two teams placed =6th and 8th. Both teams are headed to the Junior Victorian Championships in October.
Level 4
The level 4 team placed 2nd and will advance to the Junior Victorian Championships.
Level 5
Results highlights
- Anise: 4th on beam
- Annie: 1ston beam and 3rd all-around
- Grace: 11th on floor
Annie will compete at the Junior Victorian Championships later this year.
Level 6
Results highlights
- Islah: 3rd on vault, 3rd on bars, 1st on floor, 3rd all-around
- Ivy: 2nd on bars, 1st on beam, 2nd all-around
- Izzy: 1st on vault, 4th on bars, 5th all-around
The three girls also placed 1st as a team, and will advance to the Victorian Championships.
Level 7 Division 1
As the only competitor in this division in the region, Ella placed 1st on each apparatus and all-around. Although she was the only one, she put up fantastic routines, and we look forward to watching her compete at the Junior Victorian Championships in October.
Level 7 Division 2
Results highlights
- Ava: 2nd on beam, 7th all-around
- Leuca: 6th on vault, 9th all-around
- Myah: 5th on beam, 8th all-around
All three girls will be competing as individuals in the Junior Victorian Championships in October.
Men’s Artistic
This year our gymnasts competed in level 4. Both boys have trained well all year, and their competition results show it!
We are very proud of the effort of these boys, who have competed at a high standard.
The best results for both Blake and Sebastian have been on vault. At the recent MAG Junior Qualifiers, Blake placed 1st. Likewise, at the previous competition at the State Gymnastics Centre, Sebastian finished =6th.
Gymstar
This year marked Eureka’s entry into competitive Gymstart. Seven gymnasts in levels 6 and 7 attended their first competition at Balance Gymnastics Club. They all came away with great results!
The level 6 team placed 5th all-around. Alex and Misty competed as individuals and came away with placings in the top ten.
Now, everyone is working hard to perfect their skills for the next competitions in October. We look forward to the next update on their performances!
